Dr. Jason A. Shackelford is currently a practicing attorney at The Law Office of Jason Shackelford, P.C., which was founded October 2, 2002. Dr. Shackelford has practiced law in over eighty-two (82) different state courts, and various federal and municipal courts across the State of Missouri since 2001. He has represented clients in over Twelve-Thousand (12,000) cases which have necessitated his travel to multiple states within the Union in search of truth and justice for his clients.
Dr. Shackelford is currently a member of the following Bar Associations: The Missouri Bar; the United States Federal District Court, Western District (includes Central Division); the United States Federal District Court, Eastern Division; the Audrain County Bar; & the Boone County Bar.
In 1995, Dr. Shackelford obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice, and a minor in Aviation from the University of Central Missouri (formerly known as Central Missouri State University) in Warrensburg, Missouri. While attending Central Missouri State University, Dr. Shackelford became a member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society known as Alpha Phi Sigma. He also authored a Literary Research Essay which was featured in Windows to Writing: A Collection of CMSU Student Essays (Third Ed., 1993-1994), Central Missouri State University Department of English & Philosophy.
After college, Dr. Shackelford worked for a multi-state insurance company based in Columbia, Missouri, as an Assistant to the Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Claims Unit, and then as a Personal Injury Claims Examiner. He was later honored by being designated as the PIP Unit’s “Odd State” Examiner.
In the year 2000, Dr. Shackelford obtained his Doctorate of Law from the Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia (hence, his title as 'doctor'). While at Regent University, Dr. Shackelford became a Pupil-Member of the esteemed James Kent American Inn of Court, in Norfolk, Virginia. He was also featured in “Who’s Who Among American Law Students” (1999 ed.). Among many other accomplishments, Dr. Shackelford was also recognized as a “Winner for Excellence in Leadership”, by the Regent University School of Law on October 8, 1999. He also authored 'TEXTUALISM: IF THE SHOE FITS – THE ONE SHOE METHOD', (Apr. 2000) and 'THE LEGAL RESEARCH OUTLINE FOR FIRST YEAR LAW STUDENTS', edited by Marie S. Hamm, J.D., Adjunct Professor, Regent Univ., (Mar. – May 2000).

I have interacted and worked with many attorneys in my job and I believe Mr. Shackelford is an excellent attorney. He is straight to the point, and tells you like it is, he doesn't beat around the bush. Mr. Shackelford knows the law and is exceedingly competent. I never once questioned his abilities or his skill in the courtroom. In addition, unlike some attorneys, I believe Mr. Shackleford genuinely cares about his clients. I do not know too many attorneys as understanding and willing to work with clients as Mr. Shackelford. I would hands down recommend Mr. Shackleford to anyone, and have many times over since working closely with him on a case. Should I ever need legal counsel going forward in my career or my personal life, he will undoubtedly be my first call.Josette Kerns

Jason Shackelford is a great attorney, not only will he stand by you through it all no matter how long it may take. But he also rides those rollercoaster rides with you. He is easy to talk to and he will give you good advice. He may seem easy going but one thing I learned he will fight for you, when push comes to shove he is right there not giving a inch.
When I first talked to him, he knew how stressed I was and knew how important this case was to me. He smiled and said relax everything will work. No matter day or night or the time if you have an emergency he is there and will talk to You and tell you the next steps to take. He knows the law and knows how to handle many issues. Jason Shackelford is a wonderful attorney that I would highly recommend to anyone facing a difficult case. He has been helping my family for almost two years with two of the hardest cases in my eyes and has been amazing. With everything that has been thrown at him during this time he hasn't missed a beat the whole time. He is very understanding, a great advice giver, reasonably priced, and easy to get ahold of (even calls back in a timely manner). The one thing I want to brag about the most is that Jason is great at sitting down and explaining things not leaving any questions unanswered. Highly recommend Jason! He has gone above and beyond to help a family that is very important to me. He basically spent an entire 2 days getting all the information and reassuring the family that he would fight and do whatever it took to get the best outcome available. Stepping into a situation that has been going on for almost a year, with no progress, is a huge task and very frustrating for loved ones. I first hired Jason as my attorney a few years ago. I spoke to other attorneys on the phone (before hiring Jason) but while speaking with him I felt he was truly empathetic to my situation and wanted to help. My case became drastic as it went along and required me speaking with Jason almost daily for quite some time. He always returned my calls and always had solutions to my problems. If your looking for an attorney I would absolutely recommend this law firm.
